Email Coach Boyer
Marcie Boyer was named the ninth head coach of the Saint Louis University field hockey program in April, 2006. It is her first collegiate head-coaching appointment after spending two years as an assistant coach, including one season at SLU in 2004. Boyer has an 11-24 record in two seasons.
In her first season as Billiken head coach in 2006, Boyer guided the squad to a 7-9 record, the program's best winning percentage since 1991. She helped Kristin Lueders and Amy Wasserman earn All-Conference honors, while Angela Lombardo and Michelle Sinclair were selected to the Academic All-Conference team. In addition, under Boyer, the Billikens were chosen by the NFHCA for the Division I National Academic Team Award.
In her second year at SLU, the Billikens finished with four wins. Boyer guided Wasserman to first-team All-Conference honors, while Molly Boyne earned honorable mention honors. Boyer's strong recruiting efforts paid off as Kelsey Shultz and Alex Weber earned All-Rookie honors. In addition, for the second-consecutive year, the Billikens earned the NFHCA National Academic Team Award.
A native of Dillsburg, Pa., Boyer returns to SLU after a one-year stint as assistant coach at West Chester University. There she assisted in all aspects of the field hockey program and gained first-hand knowledge of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Boyer was an assistant at SLU under former head coach Maria Whitehead in 2004. She helped the Billikens to a 5-13 record and was an integral part of recruiting a number of players still on the active roster.
A midfielder at the University of New Hampshire, Boyer not only excelled on the field but also in the classroom as well. A 2003 graduate of UNH, she was a two-time America East Field Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year and a three-time Academic All-American. In 2002, Boyer was a finalist for the Honda-Broderick Cup, which goes to a female student-athlete who demonstrates not only their superior athletic skills, but also for leadership abilities, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service.
Boyer was a four-year player for New Hampshire and helped the Wildcats gain a bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2000. After her senior year, she was named a first-team All-American and was tabbed the America East Offensive Player of the Year. A three-time All-Conference selection, Boyer ended her career with 86 points (33G, 20A), which ranks fourth all-time at UNH.
After graduating from UNH, Boyer continued her playing career as a member of the United States Under-23 Junior National Team.
